Seabiscuit and War Admiral

Description

I got the book the other day. The match between The Admiral and The Biscuit was the first thing I read. I love that scene. The interaction between the horses. Mind you, War Admiral was no loser. He did not take the Triple Crown by sheer good racing luck. He was a very very good horse. And people were right to assume that the only horse who could beat him was his father, Man o' War. Had biscuit not existed, that might of been true. But the fact is that he did. He DID. He forever tarnished War Admiral's name, adding an all knew shine to his own. Biscuit had speed and stamina, all the traits of a fine race horse in odd packaging. But he also had something the Admiral did not. Pure will. Biscuit had a wondeful talent for scareing the bejesus out of other horses. All he needed to do was stare at them, right in the eye. His father was practically predatory, and Seabiscuit was no less fierce. He stared long and hard at the Admiral as he swept up along side him. His eyes were glaring and challanging, Admiral was a delicate horse. He did not have a chance. He fought and broke. Seabiscuit, satisfied with himself, pulled ahead and won by four lengths.
I don't know if War Admiral would have won had he not been subjected to the stare down. Though the little horses speed seemed to put him away anyway. Seabiscuit was like a prizefighter. Very very headstrong. Sometimes will makes up for the stuff you lack, Seabiscuit was definately a case of that. Thats why I like him so much.

So anyway, this is War Admiral and Seabiscuit at the point of the stare down. I wanted it to be apparent in the eyes of the horses who would win and who would brake. I'm sure you'll be able to tell which horse is which.

Seabiscuit- "I'm watching you..."
War Admiral- "You'll never beat me"
S- "Oh yeah?"
W.A.- "oh no! not the stare!"

20 seconds later...
S- "This race is mine!"
W.A.- "Nooooooo"

This is what I think that the horses are thinking in this amazing drawing.
